TOUR DESCRIPTION

Colca Canyon has more than three thousand meters deep, is the deepest in the world, is almost two times deeper than the Grand Canyon of Colorado, is surrounded by terraced crops, hot springs, many villages where time seems to stand still, is common across herds of guanacos, llamas and alpacas, crossed on the roads and where many still linger coyas traditions, religious rites, their music, their clothes (especially women), their houses of mud and straw and much most definitely a unique experience.

Itinerary

 Day 1:  Arequipa – Chivay – Colca Canyon Tour

07:30 a.m. Pick you up from your hotel and depart in our tourist mobility to Chivay town with differents stops along the route, where our guide will explain the importance of this Valley.

You’ll also appreciate camelids such as vicuna and llamas also make stops in Pata Pampa (Mirador de los Andes is the highest part of the route with an altitude of 4800 meters above sea level),

then you reach the village of Chivay, then you will transfer to Hotel booked for our agency. In the afternoon is possible to visit to the thermal baths, our guide will let you know the instructions about it ( it is included )

Day 2:  Cruz del Condor Tour  and Return to Arequipa

06:00 am. After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel to go towards natural Mirador known as La Cruz del Condor, along the way you will stop at key points in which spectacular views of the Colca River will appreciate.

We see hanging tombs dating from the pre-Columbian era, agricultural terraces of over a thousand years, among others.

Through our local guide we learn many aspects of the different indigenous groups that inhabited and still inhabit the Colca Valley.

Then we reach the famous Cruz del Condor, here you will have over an hour to admire the natural beauty of the canyon offers and also to observe the flight of the Condor. You can also take short walks around.

Later we start our return journey towards Chivay visiting some typical villages on the route.

In the village of Chivay, you will have time for lunch and pick up all your luggage from your hotel to leave to Arequipa.

After lunch, we will embark on the bus to Arequipa, on the way we will appreciate volcanoes at the Patapampa viewpoint at 4910 meters above sea level. Then we will appreciate camelids such as Alpacas, rock formations and Pariwanas or Andean Flamingos.

Finally we will arrive to Arequipa city at 6:00 pm.
