TOUR DESCRIPTION

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a wonderful Andean paradise is formed by the populations of Písac and Ollantaytambo parallel to the Vilcanota River.
This valley was very appreciated by the Incas due to its special geographical and climatic qualities.
It was one of the main points of production for the agricultural, artisanal and cattle wealth in the Inca era which has maintained its extraordinary characteristics until our days.

MachuPìcchu: Archaeologists estimate that it was built in the mid-fifteenth century by the Incas under the rule of Emperor Pachacutec and its function remains a mystery.

ITINERARY

Day 1 – Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas & Night in Aguas Calientes.

Pick up from your hotel and then start the tour to the Incas’ Sacred Valley on the Vilcanota River.

We will visit the typical local artisan market of Pisac, where we will have the opportunity to appreciate different types of sweaters, scarves and hats made of alpaca, wool, etc.

After this brief stop, we will continue towards the archaeological site of Pisac, here we will have to walk approximately 10 minutes to get there and we will have a guided tour of approximately 1 hour, where we will visit the most important places, such as the place of agriculture, the Inca cemetery, the temple of the sun, etc.

You will have a guided tour, and the travelling  to direction of the river willka mayu or sacred river, we will arrive to Urubamba capital of the sacred valley to have a buffet lunch (typical Andean food).

After lunch, we will travel 30 minutes by car to reach the town of Ollantaytambo to visit archaeological site where we will have a guided tour of 1 hour, in this place they stand out the Temple of the Sun, The Intihuatana, the Princess baths and Andean terraces. After having a guided tour of Ollantaytambo we have to go to the train station to board the train that will take us to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night and the next day to visit Machupicchu.

Day 2 – Tour to Machu Picchu & Return to Cusco.

Pick up early in the morning, transfer to the bus station to take the bus that will take us on a 30 minute journey along a zigzag path to the wonderful citadel of Machu Picchu.

Upon arrival in Machu Picchu you will have the guided tour to the Citadel visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries, then you will have free time to take a walk through the Inca citadel and continue exploring this impressive Inca Fortress, taking into account that the Machu Picchu exit is at noon.

After that, you will board the bus back to Aguas Calientes where you will have time to have lunch and visit the town of Aguas Calientes.

After lunch is the  departure time of the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, upon arriving in Ollantaytambo our agency mobility will wait for you to transfer to Cusco city .
